1066: Who Had The Best Claim?

The year 1066 was the year of King Edward of England's death. After this 3 all very brave men had claim's to the throne. One was the strong Duke William of Normandy, then was Harald Hardrada his ancestor was King at some point and he now claim's the throne, then the most probable leader Harold Godwinson the Earl of Wessex Harold was the most powerful English noble. Who had the best claim? Harold Godwinson I would say would have the best claim. I think Harold had the best claim because he was a English men just like all the other people in England also he is a strong leader because he was the leader of the army and the Earl of Wessex. But it was a strong competition for the throne of England, Harald Hardrada was the King of Norway and even with that he wasn't happy with just being King of Norway he wanted England, his ancestor so called "King Cnut" who was once King of England and the help of Tostig (Harold Godwinson's brother) he had no realistic reasonable reason he should have the throne at the time. Also even if the pope is rooting for Duke William of Normandy it doesn't mean the pope is always right but this made a lot of people more aware of Duke William. The most reasonable and probable King should be Harold Godwinson with all his talents and experience also with him not being a foreigner he would be the perfect King of England.

The Feudal System Explanation

"Father Francois, you are my honored guest. Please allow me to explain the feudal system to you before you ask any questions of me. I am but a simple farmer."
 The King is on top. He needs soldiers to fight  so he tells his vassals, if they get knights for him he will give land. His vassals make a deal with knights and in exchange for fighting , he will give them land. The knights make deals with peasants that if they do jobs for him, he will give land. In the end the King owns all the land.

Once I witnesses a student from my class being peer pressured because 2 students wanted to be his partners and they were using the "Best friend" line which made me think that he was really being peer pressured

I responded with nothing. I didn't do anything I just witnessed it.

I wished I would of said something to get the student out of peer pressure or made some type of action which would at least try to make him make his mind or show that he is being peer pressured to show the other students he was being peer pressured because that would of helped that student at that time.

What kept me to not respond? I'm not so sure I think I might not of been so confident to respond the way I liked but I felt that something was stopping me but I'm never so sure why, but i intend to eventually overtime figure out.

In many of the texts i read in class one good example of a bad thing happening would be Germany and he jews. This shows exclusion because german first started with exclusion then discrimination leading up to Geonocide. This all started with Hitler some reason he disliked the jews and, he became to power and that was when the exclusion began for the jews.

1.What’s familiar about the incident Eve describes?

A very familiar thing that Eve describes is the bulling. She said that people would pick on people who are "different" like they read too much and other similar activities, that would be the reason why people pick on them, but it's not a bad thing to read too much or similar things.

2.What surprised you?

That Eve says that a group of people would spend their whole time harassing other people and that was what they spent their time on which I found very bad because, for their own entertainment they would just bully other kids.

3. How does Eve’s story relate to bullying? Was she bullied? Did she bully? How would you explain her behavior?( perpetrator/bystander/victim?). make sure you justify( back up your answer.

Eve's story relates to bullying because she had spoke about different scenes of a bullying. But sadly enough Eve was one of the people who bullied other people, I would call her a perpetrator for doing that because it is not right to bully other people for your own satisfaction, but only now she realizes the right choice of not bullying.

4.How did Eve’s need to belong affect the way she responded when another girl was being mocked? Why does her response still trouble her? How do you like to think you would have responded to the incident?
She was still a bully at the time and she continued mocking. Eve's response still troubles her because now when she's older she realizes also Eve's says "looking back i wonder how I could of participated in mocking that girl, when i knew perfectly well to be mocked myself". I wish I would of responded atleast in a positive way or I should of said something

5. Eve concludes “Often being accepted by others is far more satisfying than being accepted by oneself, though the satisfaction does not last.’ What does she mean?

This means that you feel better if other people like instead of just you liking yourself or actions. So you feel like you like people liking you instead of just you accepting your action really good.
